A brand to set their imagination free

SITUATION
Escape Hatch Boxes (now Escape Hatch Books) provides an ‘escape hatch’ out of the mundane and into the world of adventure and mystery that stories provide.

CHALLENGE
This start-up brand, that applied an unusual business model for selling books – book package subscriptions – needed to capture the imagination of both children and adults. The brand also needed to translate into an easy to use and understand Shopify site.

SOLUTION
Our solution was to use language that referenced classic kid’s books, and create Inky the Octopus – brand mascot and friendly guide to the mysteries lurking behind the hatch door.

RESULT
What started as a subscription site has grown to include a mortar and brick children’s bookshop, popular with families in Melbourne’s inner north.
